THE UGP STORY
UGP comes from humble beginnings. Our founder, Mackenzie “Mac” Todd grew up an elite amateur golfer in El Paso, Texas. At the age of 16 he became a nationally ranked junior golfer. Inspired to play the game at the highest level, he attended IMG academy and worked under some of the world’s leading coaches and next to the world’s best players. After suffering several injuries during his early golf career he fell victim to the fragmented golf performance industry. His physicians were disconnected from his trainers who were disconnected from his coaches and club builders. This separation led to a hindered college career and a short-lived professional playing career. Experiencing these setbacks and realizing the industry landscape, Mac set out to revolutionize player development.
Starting as a fiery teaching professional with only a few dollars to his name he started to slowly develop a team to unify every essential element of golf performance in one location. From these efforts UGP was born.
What started as a single bay operation across from one of Los Angeles’s most iconic public courses has organically developed into a 10,000 square foot facility full of some of youngest and brightest minds the golf industry has seen. UGP is the only completely comprehensive golf development facility of its kind in the world, and it all started with the simple desire to change the game.
